Trim & Custom Shelving
Precise millwork and built-ins that finish a room properly.
Request an EstimateWhat the work involves.
Trim and built-ins are what make a room feel finished rather than just painted. JWS Home Improvement cuts and installs baseboard, casing, crown, and custom shelving with tight joints and clean reveals. Whether it's a simple re-trim or a full wall of built-ins, the work is measured to the space and built to last.

Project considerations
Style, proportion, and material all matter. Trim that's too small for a tall room looks lost; built-ins need to relate to the architecture around them. We talk through profiles, heights, and finishes so the millwork suits the home rather than fighting it.
Preparation & planning
Good trim work starts with straight walls and clean openings. We check conditions, shim where needed, and address any drywall or framing issues before install. Finishing — filling nail holes, sanding, caulking, and painting — is what makes the joinery disappear.
Pricing: Every project is quoted individually based on its scope, size, materials, and condition. We don't use fixed rates — request an estimate and we'll provide a quote for your specific project.

Questions about trim & custom shelving.
Five common questions about this service. For more, see the full FAQ page.
Full FAQ pageCan you build custom shelving to fit an awkward space?+
Yes. Custom built-ins are made to suit the specific wall, ceiling height, and use. We measure the space and discuss proportions, depth, and load so the shelving fits and functions.
Do you supply the trim or work with what I have?+
Either. We can supply trim in a profile and material that suits the home, or install material you've sourced. We discuss options and lead times before ordering.
Will you paint or stain the trim after installing?+
Yes — finishing is part of a complete trim job. We fill, sand, caulk, and paint or stain so the installation reads as one clean piece of work.
How do you handle corners that aren't square?+
Few walls are perfectly square. We cope inside joints and scribe to walls where needed so corners close cleanly rather than leaving visible gaps.
Can you match existing trim in an older home?+
Often, yes. We can source or mill profiles that match existing trim, or adapt a close profile so additions blend with the original. We assess what's there and discuss options.
