What the work involves.
Laminate flooring is a practical, good-looking way to refresh a room. JWS Home Improvement installs laminate plank flooring with careful attention to layout, seams, transitions, and the small details — undercut casings, clean doorways, and trim that ties the floor to the room. The result is a floor that sits flat, reads even, and wears well in everyday use.

Project considerations
Room use, traffic, and the existing subfloor all shape the install. Laminate performs best on a flat, clean, dry subfloor, so we assess the surface and address any high spots, movement, or moisture before laying. Underlayment, transitions between rooms, and the direction of the plank all influence how the finished floor looks and feels.
Preparation & planning
A good laminate install starts underneath. We check the subfloor for level and moisture, acclimatize the flooring to the room, remove or work around existing trim, and plan the layout so seams land evenly and edges finish cleanly. Furniture is moved, the area is protected, and the old floor is removed and prepped as needed.

Questions about laminate flooring.
Five common questions about this service. For more, see the full FAQ page.
Full FAQ pageDo you supply the laminate flooring or install what I've chosen?+
We focus on the installation and finishing of the flooring you select. We can discuss material options and what suits the space, but the install is the core of the work — laid flat, seams tight, and transitions clean.
Does my subfloor need to be perfectly flat?+
Laminate needs a flat, clean, dry subfloor to sit properly and avoid movement or creaking. We assess the surface and address high spots, dips, or moisture before laying so the new floor performs as it should.
Can you install laminate over my existing floor?+
Sometimes, depending on the existing material and condition. Some floors can be laid over; others need to be removed and the subfloor prepped first. We assess what's there and advise before starting.
How long does a laminate flooring install take?+
It depends on the room size, layout complexity, and subfloor condition. A straightforward single room is usually a day or two; larger or multi-room installs take longer. We give a realistic timeline after seeing the space.
Do you handle the trim and transitions?+
Yes — finishing is part of a complete flooring job. We undercut or work around casings, install transitions between rooms and floor types, and finish with trim so the floor reads as one clean piece of work.
